a question for all those who managed to do it.
when you realize that it's unrealistic to expect someone in the wt to ever leave, and when you see the damage it does you to keep hoping, and to keep trying to get them out, how do you manage the pain?.
what do you do when you know that someone has spoiled the only life that person will ever have, yet you can't reach to them?.
I never encourage people that have left, or that are showing signs of weakness in the religion, only because I believe in having free will.
I just continue to be polite to everyone equally whenever I encounter them in my everyday life doings. Even to the disfellowshipped ones have I never denied a smile or a good morning, as it's just the right way to treat a person.
Hey, ultimately, we all face the consequences to our actions.

Things that helped me tremendously are: Owning up to my own faults and responsibility for my situation in life and praying sincerely, wholeheartedly to Jehovah for his help and guidance, and finally, acting accordingly.
All things fell into place then, and all is good at this time in my life. Not that I don't face the same challenges as everyone else; but I face them in light of what the word of God instructs Christians to do.
Try it. It works. May you all be well.

Aw, pleeeeeeeeeease, get off the soap box!
Being a true JW is a very wholesome and healthy way of life, and plenty of people have found true happiness within it! I've been quite a happy JW myself in the last 3 to 4 years or so. It was just a matter of getting off the soap box I was on and getting with the program.
If it's not for you, fine, just move on and live, but also let live!

if it hasn't (i can't imagine that it hasn't), here's what i was wondering.
Afraid of death? Actually.... weird enough, looking forward to it! Can't wait to experience first hand who's right on the subject: Will I just go in a deep sleep-unconscious like state, will I go to a lovely place called heaven, will it be a tormentous place humans call hell?
Living my life as nice a person as possible, just in case. However, can't hardly wait to find out the truth on this subject for myself! In my JW-trained mind, I choose to believe our theory on it, but still hesitant to just discard everybody else's theories completely.
I'm such a skeptic in so many levels!!!

i'll try not to be 'knee-jerk' critical about this subject but do any witnesses like the new songbook?
ok, they got rid of some awful lyrics about molesting bees - and downsized references to the ever redundant jesus - but the music itself sounds like forced piano practice.
trying to sing these slow, pedantic tunes is awkward and painful.. i haven't seen any witness e-mails about this 'wonderful provision from jehovah' and his faithful hacks, so i wonder if the rank and file aren't enthused either.
It's okay. Like all new things, it'll take some getting used to. I like some of the new expressions better; definitely better song meaning, well, in Spanish anyway.

i have a problem.
my hubby and i are tying to fade out completely, but we ran into a snag.
my in-laws showed up with a stack of time slips and said that they will turn them in for us if we fill them out.
Oh, turning in time... one of the many things I wish would be done away with; this practice makes such liars out of so many a JW!!!
I'll be so happy when they announce it's gone away!!!
I doubt it ever will, though!

lately, i've come to find out that a more than a few people in the area had killed themselves.
most of the people i know of were in their early twenties or forties.
for those loved ones surviving them, it was mostly a shock!
Hi everybody! Haven't posted in quite a while. Been too busy, you know, with life in general.
I knew of a JW who committed suicide recently. It was heartbreaking for all that knew him, to not be able to catch the signs of despair that made him take his life. Nobody saw it coming, and it affected us all so deeply in all congregations around the area. An assumption is that perhaps the meds he was taking for depression had something to do with it. It's so, so, so very sad.

yes we hosted the ultimate "fancy dress" party.
some did come as cowboys with guns {cringe} pirates with swords {cringe} and a male servant/pioneer came as a female balerina {oh my god nearly got deleted!
} but what's the big deal!
This is an isolated incident, in a boring cong, with old/boring body of elders. It happens.
Not my my cong. We're always having parties, I mean there's at least once per month, some months 2 and 3 in the same month: Graduations, kid's parties, anniversaries, engagement, baby showers, parties to honor the elderly among us, wedding parties, whatever. We're one happy bunch at the Spanish congregations of Southwest Florida!
Can't fix boring! Has nothing to do with the religion itself!
